About Me | Why Ironbridge?

I’m Carrie Dean, your friendly neighborhood bookkeeper with a soft spot for spreadsheets and small business owners!

With over six years of experience in legal and business accounting, I started Ironbridge Bookkeeping to help entrepreneurs like you gain clarity, confidence, and control over your finances. I’ve worked with everyone from construction companies to law firms, and I know firsthand how overwhelming the “back office” can feel when you’re busy building a business.

I believe bookkeeping doesn’t have to be stressful or confusing—it can actually be empowering. When your financials are clean and current, you make better decisions, sleep better at night, and show up stronger for your clients.

The name Ironbridge comes from a quiet village in England that holds deep personal meaning for me. It’s where I found peace during a pivotal moment in life, and it reminds me that strong foundations—whether in bridges or books—are what keep everything standing.

When I’m not balancing books, you’ll find me behind a camera, playing guitar on the church worship team, or spending time with my family (and our two mischievous English Springer Spaniels, Archie and Scout).

If you’re ready for a bookkeeping experience that’s personal, professional, and judgment-free—I’d love to connect.

Why Ironbridge??

The name Ironbridge isn’t just a charming nod to a picturesque English village – it’s a symbol of strength, innovation, and enduring support.

Ironbridge is home to the world’s first cast-iron bridge, built in 1779 over the River Severn in Shropshire, England. At the time, it was a revolutionary engineering feat – a bold new structure that combined form and function to support the growing demands of the Industrial Revolution. More than two centuries later, it still stands, strong and elegant, a testament to the power of building things right from the start.

I visited Ironbridge with my (then) fiancé during a quiet season in life – one of those rare, unhurried afternoons where everything feels still and clear. As we sat in a tiny tea shop across from the bridge, I felt something I hadn’t in a long time: peace. The image of that bridge – spanning time, supporting weight, built to last – stayed with me.

When it came time to name my bookkeeping business, Ironbridge was the only choice.

Bookkeeping, when done right, is a lot like that bridge:

  • It supports your business behind the scenes, quietly and reliably.
  • It’s built on strong, structured systems that can withstand pressure.
  • It connects where you are today to where you’re trying to go.

At Ironbridge Bookkeeping, I aim to provide more than just reconciled accounts. I offer a steady, trusted foundation so you can build your business with clarity, confidence, and calm. Just like the bridge, my work is designed to last – no shortcuts, no guesswork, just smart, solid support.
